In Step With The Master Teacher

We believe that children are very precious, for they are the future of the church, and for them to be taught properly and effectively is of paramount importance.

That is why we have developed In Step with the Master Teacher, BCM’s own teacher training curriculum for children’s ministry workers. It aims to prepare teachers to disciple children the way Jesus did. That is, by modelling God’s truth, by building relationships and by teaching for response.

The course contains 21 workshops, each approximately 60 minutes long. Churches can customise their workshop selection according to their needs, or they can take the course in its entirety and earn a teaching certificate.

The material was developed with input from national children’s workers in more than 20 countries — many of them from developing nations. So the training is culturally relevant. Plus, the sessions are full of creative and practical ideas that you can use regardless of the location, size, or budget of your children’s ministry.

Comments

These are some comments from past delegates:

“Even though I’ve been in full-time Christian work for several years, I attended ‘In Step with the Master Teacher’. I found it excellent. It stimulates the understanding, teaching and application of the Scriptures to young people. It’s practical and interactive. I would recommend it both as an introductory course for any prospective youth worker, and as a refresher course for the more experienced”

Gordon Harper, Tallaght, Dublin

“In Step with the Master Teacher has been invaluable to me. It taught me how to structure my lesson plans and gave me lots of ideas to ensure that the children learn in a fun way.”

Susan Rusk, Newbridge Union Church of Ireland

“This is an extremely valuable and helpful course. If you have been teaching sunday school for years, or are just about to start, this is both challenging, insightful and Biblical.”

Hannah Sandall, Naas Presbyterian Church

“If you have a barrier in language, this training is easy to understand and implement to children.”

Maria Paz Maglaque, Channon Christian Church

“I would highly recommend this course to others. Those who took part in it learned so much. Great practical ideas were given. Those who participated are excited and eager to put what they have learned into practice.”

Margaret Angland, Ennis Evangelical Church
